nope, what I am trying to say, is that companies must find a way to synchronize their events, so that an event can occur as far as possible from a server maintenance

To be fair you can just keep the launcher open while the game is down and it'll count for steam hours.

Good news is that it's not a requisite. Idle at the launcher or menu screen. If you really wanted to play, switch servers.
