I have some reboot/crash problems with my Huawei smartphone, it reboots instantly with some apps that use an in-app browser. I'm able to reproduce this crash with the Alienware Arena app just by selecting the username box in the login page (the phone instantly reboots by itself :\), so to debug it i'm asking if anyone knows which rendering engine use!

try to clear that browser cache over apps info or its Settings > Apps > Apps > Browser > Storage and clear the cache

I dont know what browser you're using but you should try Waterfox, Bromite or even Brave Browser over any default installed one

I think it's caused by the Android System WebView app

It's not related to the default browser i'm using, it's related to the internal in-app browser. I tried Edge, Firefox and Chrome and everything works, but if I use the dedicated app (for ex. the AWA app or the Amazon Shop app) phone reboots

yes, that might be related with some outdate component like google related framework since Huawei 's webview is custom. This reminds me of another bug affecting Mediatek chipsets that would cause phones reboot by receiving SMS with "=" sign

using another message app solved the problem to affected users https://xdaforums.com/t/mediatek-bug-checker-sms-bug.2797682/

<mention></mention>LorDrone thanks for the infos! I didn't know Huawei's webview was custom, do you have any link to share? I must debug this issue, i can't use my phone anymore :( and i just uninstalled and reinstalled the Android Webview

best to revert to a previous working version if you really want to use that native browser. Latest Huawei's is 15.0.4.326 on August 19 (apkmirror.com/apk/huawei/huawei-webview-2), Google's webview 141.0.7390.17 beta on September 12

You may have multiple webviews in use over a Huawei phone (com.huawei.webview) and Google has like at least 2 or 3 (com.google.android.webview;com.android.webview;com.android.chrome), also check this github.com/JonaNorman/WebViewUpgrade
