Boldly Going Nowhere Fast.

The Alien Sign is NOT Neon. I ordered the Teal one from the Marketplace and just got it. It just has white led strip lights glued onto plexiglass with Teal colored half tubing snapped over them. Mine came from China and not The Neon Company in Atlanta Georgia USA like the announcement post stated. Also the announcement video showed the signs being actual Neon tubes. Maybe since it was from China is why it isn't a Neon sign. They should correct the description. With all of that being said, it does look good!

Can you snap some pics so <mention>Pylawn</mention> can have a look?
Pylawn - 12.02.2025 20:31:57
Yes that's correct, it's using LEDs for a neon effect rather than the old style Neon tubes, since the Neon tubes are incredibly fragile and didn't work for international shipping. Good note to call it out in the description though.

They use a manufacturer based in china but the order processing and quality checks stop along the way in the US. Also LED is indicated on the screenshot, its an LED first sign with some Neon...

elements. this is to ensure that we can actual meet global mass shipping. If it was a pure neon product, itd shatter in the box and cause larger issues. This makes it possible.

My kiddo loves our's. Thanks AW!

Simply put, it's a white LED strip with a colored light diffuser. There is nothing "neon" or "neon elements" about it. It's simply being marketed as "neon" cause it sounds more appealing.

i bought a pure neon sign from amazon and unsuprisingly it did not shatter while it was being delivered.

Since you mention the video, I did comment on the materials about a month before you ordered: https://alienwarearena.com/relay/4f9ed8d2-4171-401b-9394-9dbe82f69b13

<mention>Pylawn</mention> - Well, the AWA article and Marketplace description already mention: "LED neon flex", but maybe you can add "LED" in the item name (Alienware Neon Sign).

<mention>AW__Tom</mention> - I figured the electrical components must come from overseas, but I did mistakenly assume you shared the video because the company performs assembly in the USA. 😕
